Team Megaton

Wellington Dias, most commonly known in the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu community as “Megaton”, is a Judo and BJJ black belt famous for a competitive drive which has kept him at the top of his game for decades. Megaton is the only Brazilian Jiu Jitsu back belt to have competed in all 20 editions of the World BJJ Championships as a from the inception of the championship until present day, having reached the podium on several occasions. Megaton is also the father of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu star Mackenzie Dern and father-in-law of Augusto “Tanquinho” Mendes, another world class competitor in the sport. Megaton is considered a true legend in the sport and goes down in history books as one of the most prominent figures in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Bocas Fight Gym has been honored to have our Professor share his knowledge with our guests at our academy.

Adult BJJ: Monday – Wednesday & Friday 6PM-8PM
Kids BJJ: Tuesday 3PM-4:15PM

Muay Thai


Esther Brix is a Bocas resident for several years and has a Bachelor degree in Sports, Marketing and Management, as well as a certification for Basic Body Shape instructor.

Her experience in martial arts goes back to 2001 where she began Pencak Silat and obtained a black belt in 2010. She also practiced 8 years in the art of Jeet Kune Do, has trained Tai Chi, Aikido, Wushu, Kyokushin Karate, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai and now Boxing and MMA.

Our Muay Thai class includes fundamentals but also mixes with other stand up martial arts such as Pencak Silat, Jeet Kune Do and others.

Strength & Conditioning Training


Hands down the gnarliest workout in Bocas del Toro. This is the class that most of the athletes take in order to train for surfing, paddling, fighting and other sports. If you’re looking for an intense workout in the morning before hitting the beach try this!

The Strength & Conditioning Training class consists of a combination of cardio and strength exercises, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), plyometric, core strengthening and balance exercises, and MMA Fitness circuits.
